This program is designed for a family to 'try out' fostering to see if they would like to complete the full process to become an official PHR Foster Family. Minimum Requirements: 1. You must be in Spokane/CDA or surrounding areas 2. No dogs in home under 1 year old 3. All dogs in home are spayed/neutered 4. All dogs in home have rabies shot (DAPP & Bordetella are optional) Here's how the process works: You will submit your application to "Try-It-Out" Once approved, a volunteer will conduct a Home Inspection to make sure your house is secure and safe for puppies. At the approval time of the Home Inspection, the volunteer will leave one or two puppies with you. You have a 3-day commitment for and 8 week old or older pup or a 1 week commitment to try out fostering a litter. We will provide you with everything you need for the puppy as well as support to answer any questions. You will then take a Foster Survey. Loved it? Didn't love it? Either way we want to know your experience. If you loved the experience, sign up to become an official PHR foster! If not, return the pups after the trial. No harm no foul. They're are a lot of other opportunities to help/volunteer with us. Please talk with your Foster Onboarder about those opportunities. ***This is NOT a "foster to adopt" opportunity. If you are interested in adoption, please fill out an Adoption Application. You will have an In Home Trial as part of your adoption process. ***This program is not intended for recreation or family activity, this is meant as a low barrier opportunity to see if fostering is right for your family.
